Q Unit 3 - Discussion 1 Peer Speech Reviews Purpose: This discussion allows you to show your understanding of the various elements of public speaking by critiquing the speeches of your classmates. It also provides an opportunity for you to reflect on how others have viewed your own speaking abilities and make plans for improvement. Instructions: You will make two initial postings this week. (Due Thursday) Select two speeches uploaded by your classmates last week and evaluate them using the criteria below. Title your posts with the name of the person you are evaluating, i.e. “Beth Brewster Speech.” Try to spread around the critiques so that everyone gets reviewed at least twice. You do not need to complete the entire evaluation; select only those 8-10 items that stick out to you as strengths and weaknesses. Then offer comments to your classmate. Be honest, but supportive. Ans- Bradley Green Speech Bradley- You spoke clearly and attempted to show eye contact while not having an audience. I know that is hard because I did the same thing. You used a couple note cards and only looked at them to remind yourself of your next topic. I thought that was excellent. I think your pauses were good and you only used the word “um” a couple times. I think this confirms that you put effort into this and practiced.
